Hot & Dry Forecast
Today will be the hottest day of 2014 in Huntsville. So far we hit 94° on June 18 and 93° five other times. I’m forecasting 96° this afternoon. With high humidity, the heat index runs in the triple digit category. We have two days in the forecast with highs in the middle 90s before it cools off in time for the 4th of July.
Rain chances are slim over the next several days. With Tropical Depression #1 (Arthur) to our northeast, it will likely bring drier air to us this week. Our rain chances are only in the 10%-20% category this week. Turn on your sprinklers and get out early in the morning to water your plants. Rain totals aren’t impressive at all.
0.10″ Or Less Through Friday Morning
Here is the latest on Tropical Depression #1. It formed Monday night and sits off the Florida coast. The forecast has the system moving northeast along the east coast. On this path, it brings bands of heavy rain Florida, Georgia, and the Carolinas this week. No impacts along our gulf coast with this system. Again, it will bring in drier air later this week to the Tennessee Valley. KEEP COOL EVERYONE!
