Saturday Evening Storms Possible

The extreme northwest corner of Alabama is included in a standard Slight Risk for severe weather. Storms that form could contain heavy rain, gusty winds, and prolific amounts of lightning and thunder. Overall, this evening’s round of storms does not look as bad as what we dealt with on Thursday when we had widespread wind damage.

As of 2:40 p.m., a few storms were developing in north-central Mississippi and western Tennessee, but no rain is noted for now in north Alabama or southern middle Tennessee. Forecast radar moves scattered storms into northwest Alabama around 6:00 p.m., but it could be a little earlier than that, depending on how fast these storms can get together.

Forecast radar valid at 6:00 p.m.
