Chilly Saturday – Big Warm Up Next Week!

After two rounds of snow/wintry weather and a good dose of rain last night…we’re in for a dry and pleasant weekend!  Today will be chilly as colder and drier air from the northwest continues to filter into the Tennessee Valley.  Despite a clearing sky, becoming mostly sunny, temperatures will struggle to warm up and will only reach the upper 30s and low to mid 40s this afternoon.  With a north-northwesterly breeze between about 6-12 mph, wind chills will be in the 20s and 30s all day.  Below are wind chills as of 9:00 am.

Tonight will be the last night that temperatures fall below freezing, with a big warm up on the way for Sunday and the rest of the next seven days.  Late tonight the wind will become light out of the southwest, as temperatures falling into the upper 20s and low 30s.  A quick moving clipper system will increase clouds across the area late tonight, but rain should remain to our north and east.

Sunday will be significantly warmer than today, with highs in the mid 50s and west-southwesterly breeze.  Expect a partly to mostly sunny sky.  An unsettled weather pattern will start to bring small rain chances back into the forecast late Monday and keep small rain chances through Wednesday.  Rain chances increase Thursday and Friday, with Friday being the wettest day of the next seven.

Monday – Friday highs will be in the 60s and possibly low 70s, with overnight reaching into the 50s by mid-late week.
