Cool & Quiet This Week
After a weekend of storms and windy weather, things settle down this week. Here is a look at downtown Huntsville this afternoon. Clouds hold on with a few showers here and there. Most of rain today has been west of I-65. Precipitation totals aren’t very impressive though. Another tenth of an inch is possible at best.
Mild temperatures hold on for now. We are in the middle to upper 50s, but that changes in a hurry tonight. We dip into the lower 40s first Monday morning then very cold air arrives Christmas Eve. Enjoy the mild air for just a few more hours.
Look at what’s to our northwest. A cold is poised to move through the Tennessee Valley later this week. The coldest day will be Tuesday with highs only in the middle 30s. Christmas morning will be very cold with many spots below the 20° mark. If you live in southern middle Tennessee, middle teens are a possibility. Keep that in mind if you looking to test out some of your Christmas gifts outside! Overall it looks good this week and very quiet. Temperatures try to recover later on with no rain after today.
