Halloween is fast approaching! Unfortunately, a cold front is scheduled to arrive in the Tennessee Valley around the same time. So many activities are going on Thursday evening including hundreds of kids taking to the streets to stock up on candy! The big question: Will it rain Halloween evening? That is the big question we’ll iron out in the coming days. Here is a look at two computer models and as you can see there is a difference in the timing. First let’s look at the European.
This model doesn’t paint a pretty picture. Rain begins Thursday afternoon and lasts through early Friday. It would be wet and stormy through prime trick-o-treating hours. The beauty of forecasting the weather, it can always change. This the one model that hopefully isn’t the right one.
Here is the GFS Model.
Like the European, the GFS shows a strong storm. The timing is a little different. This model is a little faster. There is drier air to the west in the Shoals by 7pm. With that said, most of the Tennessee Valley is still wet during the prime trick-o-treating time Thursday. Plan to get wet Thursday evening at this time. Right now, severe weather is unlikely and heavy rain along with gusty winds are the main threats. We’ll keep you posted and continue to check www.valleywx.com for further updates.
