Not Quite As Cold Tonight

Clouds continuing to build into the Tennessee Valley and are helping to slow the cool down this evening.  Despite that, with a clearer sky over northeast Alabama, a few communities have already cooled into the low 40s.  An almost 15° temperature contrast exists between Muscle Shoals at 55° and Fort Payne already down to 41°.  Below are 10:00 pm temperatures.

Expect temperatures to bottom out mostly in the 40s overnight, I wouldn’t be surprised if a few locations in northeast Alabama dip into the upper 30s.  There have been a few sprinkles reported in middle Tennessee, but we anticipate the Tennessee Valley to stay dry tonight.  Below is the satellite and radar image as of 10:41 pm.

The warming trend will continue Sunday afternoon with highs reaching the mid to upper 60s.  Still below average for late October, but closer to where we should be for this time of year.  High temperatures will return to the 70s for many Monday and mid to upper 70s Tuesday and Wednesday.  Overnight lows will be in the upper 40s Monday and 50s the rest of the week.  Sprinkles or a stray shower again cannot be ruled out late Sunday night, into Monday morning, but the majority will remain dry.

We need rain, but unfortunately it looks like our next best chance for showers and a few storms will come some time on Halloween.  For more on the extended forecast, check out our WHNT Forecast Page.
