Many have seen a nice break from the rain over the past few hours, but more storms have developed in southern, middle Tennessee and northwest Alabama.  There are not severe, but are producing locally heavy rain and frequent lightning as they move southeast.

More showers and storms will be possible through the afternoon and evening as a cold front approaches, but we are not expecting the widespread coverage of storms like this morning.  A few strong storms cannot be ruled out, mainly due to gusty wind and small hail, but the severe threat remains low.

Morning rain and clouds have kept temperatures in check so far this Labor Day and will likely continue to do so, with 12:00 pm temperatures ranging in the upper 70s and low to mid 80s.

High temperatures this afternoon will mostly range in the upper 70s and low to upper 80s, dependent on the cloud cover and rain over your community.  Relief from the heat and humidity will come soon, as a cold front pushes south overnight, ushering in some slightly drier and cooler air over the next 24-36 hours.
