A batch of widespread rain and occasional storms has given much of the Tennessee Valley at least a brief soaking today, although many locations have managed to remain dry. Currently , the heaviest storms have developed in a broken line that extends from roughly Marshall County through Marion County and is moving southeast at about 30mph.

This will probably be the heaviest concentration of rain we see for the rest of the day as we expect only scattered and brief showers to continue into the evening and overnight. That doesn’t mean occasional additional heavy downpours are out of the question tonight, but the overall trend moving forward today will be for greater spacing between showers, eventually leaving most of the Valley with dry conditions by sunrise tomorrow.
