Dreary For Now

It’s been raining all morning and a complete break in the precipitation won’t come until sometime Friday. Here is a live shot from our Jack’s Camera Network from Florence around 7am. It’s a chilly and raw start to your Thursday.

Live Armor at 7am shows light rainfall moving from southwest to northeast. Some of heavier rain now north of Fayetteville and Winchester came through Madison County around 6am. Mainly light rain is in the forecast for the rest of the morning. There is another upper level disturbance over Arkansas and Oklahoma that increases our chances of more rain later today and tonight. Temperatures remain chilly with highs in the upper 40s to lower 50s this afternoon.

Here are your 24 hour rainfall totals as of 7am Thursday. Southern sections are seeing the most right now. Around an inch in both Cullman and Albertville.

Another 1/2″ to 3/4″ of rain is possible before all is said and done Friday. Then we dry it out and warm it up for the weekend. High pressure at the surface and aloft bring pleasant conditions to the Tennessee Valley Friday afternoon through the weekend. Highs well into the 70s to near 80 into next week. Enjoy the nice weather after a dreary Thursday!
