A Natural Contrast!

We got this photo in to photo@whnt.com around 9:00 PM, and it just goes to show you that time marches on no matter what is happening around us! The irises are blooming in the Tennessee Valley in spite of the fact that today’s temperatures were well-below the seasonal average (like many days over the past two months). In fact, Huntsville’s high of 47º was a whopping 24 degrees below average!

We all know it’s been quite a bit colder than normal lately, but just how cold has it been? It’s not unprecedented, but it is impressive! Temperatures were a little above average in January, but it just stayed “January” through February and March!

As the average rose, temperatures did not. This has been an unusual late Winter and early Spring so far, but things are about to be changing!

We’ve got a big warm-up and some heavy storms in the forecast! See our detailed explanation at WHNT.com/Weather!

And just in case you’re wondering, I don’t think we’re totally out of frost danger yet. So don’t plant anything this weekend! Just enjoy the warm weather.
