Rain totals this weekend could be higher especially if we get stronger storms Saturday afternoon into early Sunday. Here is the Quantitative Precipitation Forecast (QPF) from the Hydrometeorological Prediction Center. Through Sunday morning, totals are upwards of 2″ for the Tennessee Valley.

There is also a slight risk of severe weather for the Tennessee Valley from the Storm Prediction Center. The risk is only for a sliver of our area. Southern Morgan, southern Lawrence, and portions of Franklin County, Alabama. The best chances of severe weather are south from Birmingham to the gulf coast.

The main threat at this time are damaging winds and large hail. Stay tuned for the latest updates as we plan our weekend!
