The bulk of the widespread rain is still west of the TN Valley, but a few batches of isolated storms have clipped Northwest Alabama and Southern Middle Tennessee, providing some lightning and brief downpours. Nothing is severe, and the severe weather threat tonight is low.

The rain will take its sweet time moving across the area, but, more likely than not, everyone in the Valley will see at least some rain within the next 24 hours. The winds will be stout through the overnight hours, but will not be associated with severe weather (see this post).
