Don’t be surprised to see a few ice pellets this morning, but no problems are expected. The light pink on Live Armor shows the potential for a little light sleet this morning along and west of I-65 around 4am. Temperatures are at or slightly above freezing the area.
There is a larger storm to the west that impacts the Tennessee Valley later today through Friday. As you can see, a mixed bag of precipitation brings a big mess to the middle of the nation today. Rain is likely for us this afternoon lasting into Friday.
The main front won’t pass through here until early Saturday. With that, a chance of rain continues until the cold front moves through. We aren’t done with the rain yet as another storm arrives by Monday into Tuesday. It’s been a wet 2013 and the unsettled weather isn’t going anywhere anytime soon. This map is valid for Thursday evening.
