Rain/Sleet Mix Moving North

There is some light rain and sleet mixture moving north across The Shoals, Cullman, Morgan, Blount, Marshall, Etowah and Cherokee Counties. Much of the precipitation is too light to overcome evaporation in the lower atmosphere, but what is reaching the ground is a mix of rain drops and sleet pellets (little balls of ice).

No travel issues are expected as temperatures are well-above freezing:

This light band of precipitation will drift north through the Tennessee Valley through this evening; rainfall/sleet will be relatively light with no accumulations of ice expected.

More rain comes on Thursday and Thursday night!
