Here is the regional satellite and radar just before noon. Rain presses northeast through the day and it could locally heavy. Some parts of Mississippi are under flood warnings as heavy rain moves through that region.
The updated computer model shows widespread rainfall this afternoon. Yellow and orange indicate moderate to locally heavy rainfall. This is likely to last through the evening into the overnight. Areas south of the Tennessee River have the best chance of higher rain totals. Phil Campbell, Cullman, Boaz, and Collinsville could see upwards of an inch of rain while areas in southern middle Tennessee have a chance of 1/4″ to 1/2″ of precipitation through Thursday morning.
We don’t need anymore rainfall. For the year Huntsville sits at 9.69″. Normally we see 6.73″. As of this morning, we are at a 2.96″ surplus with more on the way. Stay dry everyone!
