The Next 24 Hours – Chilly Thursday

Another Arctic cold front passing through the Tennessee Valley brings another day of unusually cold weather. Compared to the highs in the mid-50s with some sunshine on Wednesday, it’s just going to feel cold on Thursday. Early morning temperatures will drop from the 40s to the mid-30s around sunrise. Expect a high in the range of 38 to 43 degrees in the middle of the afternoon with a blustery north wind averaging 10-15 MPH with some higher gusts around 20-25 MPH.

A Winter Storm Watch has been posted for parts of East Tennessee and North Georgia for Thursday night and Friday. Around the Tennessee Valley of North Alabama and Southern Middle Tennessee, expect some light wintry precipitation in the form of freezing rain and sleet in the wee hours of Friday morning up through midday.
