Not As Cold This Morning
Temperatures are in the middle 30s this morning. Cloud cover overnight has kept readings a little more bearable this morning. Here are your current temperatures and sky conditions at 4am.
Things could get interesting later this week. A very complex weather pattern approaches the Tennesee Valley Thursday night into Friday. First, a cold front cross the area Thursday bringing colder air. After that, moisture overrides that cold air at the surface bringing the potential for a little ice to the Tennessee Valley Thursday night into Friday morning. Right now the best chance of freezing rain will be north of our area. It’s something we’ll monitor and post further updates.
Here is the surface weather map valid Thursday morning. It shows the cold front south of our area bringing the colder air. Moisture eventually returns with cold air in place giving us a chance of wintry precipitation. High pressure over Minnesota is responsible for our cold air.
