More Significant Rain Likely Tonight/Tomorrow
Amidst all the discussion regarding our snow potential tomorrow, we don’t want to lose sight of the fact that we are also anticipating some significant rain before the snow for parts of the Tennessee Valley, adding to the concern for additional flooding of rivers and roadways.
Several rivers are at minor to moderate flood levels and will continue to rise due to runoff and additional precipitation. You can check a river gauge and forecast near you here.
An additional inch or more of water in the form of rain and melting snow could fill the gauges by Thursday night, with highest amount in the eastern areas.
Unfortunately, it appears the highest additional rainfall totals will be in the areas that have already seen the highest amount over the last week.
