Mid-Morning Update: Mainly Rain the Rest of the Day

Rain, sleet, snow, and isolated freezing rain have been seen around the Valley this morning as light showers have fallen into near freezing air at the surface. Temperatures are now slowly warming, and most of the area’s observations are above freezing now. As a result, we expect mainly rain from here on out, although some non-accumulating ice pellets or occasional snow will still be possible during the next couple of hours with only a small possibility for an occasional slick spot on the roads.

Rain will continue to become more widespread through the afternoon and evening hours, making for a soggy Friday evening before tapering after midnight. Light flurries will be possible through Saturday morning, but no major accumulations or travel hazards are in the forecast.
