Snow Possible On Wednesday
Snow is possible Wednesday in the Tennessee Valley. Here is GFS model valid for Wednesday morning. The analysis is at the bottom of this image.
Upper Left: Shows a strong disturbance in the upper atmosphere tracking south and east.
Upper Right: Shows the temperatures in the upper atmosphere. The red line in west Alabama is the freezing line about 5000 feet up. That line moves east all day. Colder air builds in.
Lower Left: The moisture ending at 6am. Notice the green (precipitation) over Tennessee, north central Mississippi and western Alabama. According to this model, it will be snowing Wednesday morning over NW Alabama.
Lower Right: Total precipitation ending at 6am. The purple is less an 0.10″ of “liquid.” With that, according to this model, there will be little to no accumulation.
