The Next 24 Hours – Sunny Saturday
It is rare for us to have this kind of tranquility in November, so enjoy it while it lasts! There are some long-range signs of a change to more “active” weather (don’t read too far into that) by the last week of this month and the first of December. That means we will probably make up for lost time with some rain by next weekend, but this weekend looks great! It is starting out cold both Saturday morning and Sunday morning, but the afternoons will be about as close to “normal” as it gets: highs in the mid-60s.
The wind will be light and the sky mostly sunny, so if you have outdoor plans, there are no worries about weather problems on Saturday! Find out about the forecast through the Thanksgiving Holiday at WHNT.com/Weather.

COLLEGE FOOTBALL SATURDAY:
It’s hard to believe we are nearing the end of the college football season already! Here are some early looks at games involving teams from Alabama and Tennessee this weekend:
Alabama vs. Western Carolina – 11:21 AM, Saturday – Bryant-Denny Stadium:
Expect a nice day in Tuscaloosa Saturday! Temperatures for the early kick-off will be around 59 degrees. By the fourth quarter, it will be in the 63-65º range with a sunny sky and a light northeast breeze. For tailgating after the game, it will be a nice afternoon! Temps will drop below 50º again by 8:00 PM on campus.
Alabama A&M at Auburn – 1:00 PM, Saturday – Jordan-Hare Stadium:
The weather on the Plains should make for a nice football atmosphere when Alabama A&M and Auburn get kicked off Saturday afternoon. Temperatures will start out around 62º with a mostly sunny sky. Expect a light northeast breeze and a slow drop into the upper 50s by the end of the game. Post-game tailgating looks comfortable, but it will get a little chilly after sunset!
Vanderbilt vs. Tennessee – 6:00 PM, Saturday – Vanderbilt Stadium:
Pregame tailgating in Nashville will be comfortably cool. The high in Nashville on Saturday will top out near 59º with a sunny sky and a light north breeze. The Vols and the Commodores get kicked off Saturday evening with a clear sky and chilly temperatures. Kick-off temps will be in the upper 40s, but it will fall down into the 42-44º range by game’s end in Nashville.
But if you’re hanging around the Tennessee Valley to do the Galaxy of Lights, the Athens Downtown Christmas Open House, or anything else outdoors, here’s how temperatures will change throughout the day:
