Sunny, Breezy & Pleasant Saturday
After a windy and dusty day across the Tennessee Valley, today will be much more pleasant in that respect! The dust is gone, but it will still be breezy, especially this afternoon with a west-northwesterly wind sustained between 5-15 mph and gusting up to 20 mph at times. It is a cold morning across the valley, check out 9:00 am temperatures.
After a chilly start, a mostly sunny sky will help aid in warming afternoon temperatures into the mid to upper 60s. A few locations may reach into the low 70s. If you will be out for most of the day, make sure to have a jacket handy, because after the sun sets just after 6:00 pm this evening, temperatures will cool quickly under a clear sky. Tonight temperatures will fall into the upper 30s and low 40s, with a few of the normally cooler spots cooling into the mid 30s. Some patchy frost may be possible if temperatures get that low, so make sure to protect any outdoor, sensitive vegetation.
Despite the chilly start to Sunday, temperatures will rebound into the mid 70s as a warming trend starts Sunday afternoon. The warming trend will persist throughout much of the upcoming work week, with highs around 80 degrees. Though Summer lovers don’t get too excited, another cold front looks to usher in more cooler and drier air by the end of the week into early next week.
As you have probably already noticed, Fall foliage has been become much more vibrant and widespread across the Tennessee Valley, especially in the foothills of the Appalachians of southern middle Tennessee. We are actually nearing peak for all of the Tennessee Valley, which typically occurs in late October and early November. Below is a look at the latest look from ‘The Foliage Network’ which get bi-weekly reports from foliage spotters.
Have a wonderful Saturday!
