The Next 24 Hours – Friday Begins with some Rain
Showers developed over Tennessee and Missouri late Thursday evening, and those will come rumbling through the Tennessee Valley during the first half of Friday. A good soaking rain is possible for many Southern Tennessee communities, but the rain will be slacking off some as it moves through North Alabama. Some occasional lightning and thunder is possible with some of the heavier rain during the morning hours. The greatest chance of rain is in the morning, and it gradually decreases as the day goes on.
Here’s how much rain is forecast by our Microcast/Futurecast computer model:

The rain will end by Friday afternoon, and even with a mostly cloudy sky, temperatures will still have a chance to recover into the lower 70s in most communities, but some will stay in the upper 60s due to lingering patchy areas of light rain and thicker clouds.
High school football weather may not be 100% perfect, but the games will be rain-free with pleasant temperatures in the 60s. For everything Football Friday including some forecasts for specific games, be sure to check out WHNT.com/Football Friday!
