The Next 24 Hours – Wednesday’s Weather

Posted on: 9:10 pm, October 9, 2012, by

It did get a little milder on Tuesday; afternoon high temperatures ranged from 64º in Valley Head to 67º in Muscle Shoals and Huntsville. That was after one the coldest nights Valley-wide since the middle of March! Things are moving onward and upward, though! A gradual warming trend has already started, and the weather will continue to get a little warmer on Wednesday in spite of a cool front blowing through the region.

As the front moves through, clouds will thicken at times through the early part of the day, and temperatures will stay cool for the morning. We expect a 2 to 5 degree bump up in afternoon highs in most of the Tennessee Valley even as a reinforcing push of cool, dry air blows into the region. Expect a lot of sunshine and a stiff west-northwest breeze in the afternoon. Highs will range from the mid-60s in Southern Tennessee to around 72 from Huntsville southeast toward Albertville.

The warming trend continues for the rest of the week, and there is only a small chance of rain by Friday. Be sure to check out the longer-term forecast that we update several times a day at WHNT.com/Weather!
