Rainy Start – Then Clearing
It’s been another dreary start to the day, this is the third cloudy start in a row, with showers this morning…though improvement is on the way! An upper level disturbance passing overhead has provided enough lift for scattered showers this morning and a band of moderate rain continuing to move east into northeast Alabama.
Temperatures are chilly, with everyone across the Tennessee Valley in the mid to upper 40s at 8:00 am.
Showers will be off to the east by this afternoon, with clouds lingering, but gradual clearing will occur from west to east. Some sunshine is possible today, especially farther west and that will be where the warmest temperatures this afternoon will be as well. Temperatures will struggle again to reach into the 60s, with a few locations possibly staying in the 50s this afternoon. The sky will continue to clear tonight, though that will mean a cooler start Tuesday morning, with lows in the low to mid 40s. Despite the colder start a warming trend starts tomorrow afternoon with the return of a southerly wind, with highs near 70 degrees.
