Cool, Breezy & Cloudy

The cold front that moved across the area yesterday, is well off to our south and east, in the northern Gulf of Mexico. Unseasonably cold air still encompasses much of the Lower 48 this morning, with lows across the Tennessee Valley this morning mostly in the 40s.  Temperatures will be slow to warm, thanks to a mostly cloudy sky and northerly breeze.  9:00 am temperatures are in the mid to upper 40s and low 50s.

Temperatures today will struggle to reach into the low 60s and thanks to a continuing northerly breeze, it will feel like it’s in the 50s this afternoon.  There may be a few breaks in the clouds later in the day, but a partly to mostly cloudy sky will prevail throughout most of it.

A couple disturbances that will be traversing the region over the next 24 hours will bring small rain chances.  Most locations will remain dry today, with just a small chance for a few sprinkles.  Late tonight and into early Monday, another disturbance will move through, bringing isolated to maybe even scattered showers, but not everyone may see rain.

Expect gradual clearing of the rain and clouds from west to east throughout the day Monday.  Due to clouds and rain chances, morning lows Monday will mostly be in the mid 40s, with highs Monday in the low to mid 60s. After an even colder start Tuesday morning with lows in the low to mid 40s, thanks to clearing, a warming trend starts, with temperatures back to around 70 degrees Tuesday afternoon. The warming trend will persist throughout most of the week.
