The Next 24 Hours – Football Friday
Friday will be another very warm day by early October standards in the Tennessee Valley! Thursday’s high temperatures ranged from 76º in Crossville, Ala. to 83º in Huntsville and Muscle Shoals. Expect a nice, warm replay for Friday afternoon with lots of sunshine, a few passing clouds, and a southwest breeze around 10 to 15 MPH in the afternoon hours. Daytime highs may come up a degree or two as well; some could be as warm as 85º around The Shoals.
High school football games are looking pleasantly warm and rain-free on Friday evening. There is no threat of rain, and temperatures will drop from the mid-70s at kick off to the mid-60s by the fourth quarter. The breeze will settle down to southwest at about 5 to 10 MPH.
There’s a major October cold front coming in on Saturday, and that means it’s going to get awfully chilly come Sunday and Monday! The detailed extended forecast is always available at WHNT.com/Weather, and we update it several times a day.
