The Next 24 Hours – Thursday

Posted on: 8:51 pm, October 3, 2012, by

It’s getting warmer and doing it quickly! High temperatures on Wednesday reached 76º at Huntsville International and at Decatur’s Pryor Field; Muscle Shoals reached 78º on Wednesday. Thursday will be a few degrees warmer across the board with most Tennessee Valley communities warming into the upper 70s and lower 80s. Expect the breeze to kick up from the southwest around 6 to 12 MPH on average with a few higher gusts up near 20 MPH in the middle of the afternoon underneath a mostly sunny sky.

Warmer days won’t last long; there’s a big cold front coming south through the Plains now, and as it blows through on Saturday, there will be some scattered showers and a drastic change to much colder weather! You can see our detailed ideas on the potential for some very chilly early-season weather at WHNT.com/Weather!
