Tornado Watch For Most Of The Tennessee Valley

A Tornado Watch is in effect for all of the Tennessee Valley except for northwest Alabama, until 8:00 pm.  As the surface low and associated cold front move across the area this afternoon and evening, there is the potential for any storms that do develop, to rotate and possibly produce a brief spin-up tornado. The tornado threat is small, the main concern with any storm is heavy rain and high wind.  Below is map of the Tornado Watch which stretches from southern middle Tennessee, through much of north Alabama (except northwest Alabama) and into much of north and central Georgia.
