Pleasant Afternoon With Some Clearing

After a cloudy start, it has turned into a decent afternoon, with some clearing and sunshine, though the clouds are still hanging around. Below is the an image from our Athens state camera, showing the sun getting closer to the horizon, with sunset just over two hours away. Also below is an image from our Saturn V Rocket camera showing a little more sun over the city of Huntsville.

There is a pleasant northerly breeze ushering in a slightly drier and cooler air mass, preventing most locations from even reaching the 80s today!  Check out the 4:00 pm temperatures!

The latest model runs still show a more northeasterly track with the current low pressure system in Texas as it moves along the front to our south over the next 48-72 hours.  This means a better chance for rain Sunday afternoon and evening, overnight, into Monday.  Heavy rain will be the main concern with this system, with 1-2″ possible, with locally higher amounts.  This will make for a rainy and dreary start to the week and limit warming with highs in the 70s over the next few days.
