The Next 24 Hours – Football Friday

Posted on: 8:40 pm, September 20, 2012, by , updated on: 09:04pm, September 20, 2012

It’s going to start out on the cool side of normal Friday, but a fully-sunny sky along with a west-southwest wind at 10-20 MPH will get the warm-up going quickly! Expect daytime highs on Friday to hit the mid-80s in The Shoals, Southern Tennessee and most of North Alabama. The lone exceptions will be higher elevations in Marshall, DeKalb, Jackson, Lincoln (TN), Franklin (TN), and Marion (TN) where the thermometer may only warm to around 79 to 82 degrees by mid-afternoon.

Friday looks like a classic late-September day: a pleasant start leading to a toasty (but dry) afternoon. There is no threat of rain whatsoever for high school football games this week. Under a clear sky, look for temperatures around 75-80º at kick off with a slow drop into the upper 60s to near 70 degrees by the fourth quarter.
