Skywarn Class for Deaf and Hearing-Impaired Tonight
The National Weather Service in Huntsville, AL will provide a SKYWARN Spotter Talk for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing on September 13, 2012 at the Rehabilitation Services center, 3000 Johnson Rd in Huntsville, from 6-8pm with Q&A afterwards. The goal is to educate on weather safety as well as learn how to recognize and report severe weather. All those in attendance will become SKYWARN Storm Spotters, helping the National Weather Service verify severe weather warnings. Information about the National Weather Service and their products, storm structure recognition, radar interpretation and weather safety will be discussed. Interpreters and captioning services will be provided. Other SKYWARN Spotter Talks for the general public will be available later this fall.
