Cloudy With Showers, Then Clearing
It is a cloudy and mild start to the weekend, with 7:00 am temperatures ranging mostly in the low to mid 70s. A band of showers and storms approached the Tennessee Valley last night and as it started to move through northwest Alabama, it quickly dissipated and most remained dry overnight. There are a few spotty showers this morning producing very light rain or sprinkles, but most are still dry. A cold front is located just off to our west and as it continues to approach and move through, showers are possible with some possibly briefly heavy. As the front moves east, expect gradual clearing from west to east this afternoon and evening. Below are 7:00 am temperatures and the regional satellite and radar as of 7:22 am.
Behind the front a cooler and drier air mass will move in, giving us some relief from the unseasonably warm and muggy conditions over the past few days. High temperatures today will be mostly in the upper 70s and low 80s, thanks to the cloud cover and rain. Tonight, with the cooler air moving, temperatures will fall into the low to mid 50s. After a cool and crisp start to Sunday, expect high temperatures again to range in the upper 70s, to possibly low 80s, under a mostly sunny sky. Temperatures will gradually warm up into the mid 80s by mid week, with continued dry conditions. Enjoy the pleasant weather!
