Video & Photos of Today’s Wall & Shelf Clouds

There were some tornado warnings today but as of this writing there have been no actual reports of tornadoes. There have been a few wind damage reports which consisted mostly of a few trees and power lines down in Colbert, Morgan, Limestone, Madison, and Dekalb counties.

Wall cloud crossing Alabama Highway 53 around 4:30 p.m.
I witnessed two wall clouds, one near Monrovia that crossed Alabama Highway 53 around 4:30, and another that moved over downtown Huntsville around 5:30.

Wall cloud over downtown Huntsville around 4:30 p.m. This photo doesn’t really do this storm justice. This storm was definitely rotating and I saw some small vortices protruding from the wall cloud.

I also made videos of these storms. The first one is of the wall cloud that crossed Highway 53. The second one shows the storm that later produced the wall cloud over downtown Huntsville.
