Patchy Light Rain this Evening

An area of light, patchy rain is moving NNE at 15-20 MPH across the Tennessee Valley this evening. There is also another batch of light rain southwest of Cullman moving north at about the same speed. If you’re headed out to a game, you can keep up with the radar with our mobile applications at WHNT.com!

At this rate, we expect the more “widespread” showers to be mainly north of the Tennessee River by 7 PM, but a few spotty areas of light rain and drizzle may persist through some of tonight’s high school games. There is no lightning and no excessively heavy rain; however, this kind of weather is bad for nice hairstyles and woodwinds in the marching band!

This kind of rain is more of an inconvenience than a real problem. The best part of it is that the temperature is pretty nice with the rain around!

We expect less than 1/10″ of rain through 8 PM, and most of the rain will fade away by halftime of tonight’s games.

More rain is possible for Friday night’s games! Here’s the full forecast at WHNT.com Weather!
