Back to School Week for Many

Most kids in Alabama are starting school tomorrow, and it looks like the weather will cooperate nicely through the work/school week.

Today, we’ve been clearing our skies from west to east after our morning rain showers exited the area. Now, our focus is on a disturbance producing isolated showers to our northwest.

These showers are pretty puny at the moment and the most likely scenario for us tonight will be just some clouds overspreading the area, although a few showers cannot be ruled out. Skies should be mainly clear for awhile tonight, and, with lowered humidity values around the region, temperatures will be falling into the low 60′s and upper 50′s. It won’t be a bad idea to have a light jacket or long-sleeve shirt for the kids waiting at the bus stop.

This slim chance for rain will continue into Monday, thanks to a persistent stalled frontal boundary still hanging out just south of our area. The good news is, we’re on the mild side of the front and temperatures afternoon temperatures should once again register at below average.

After Monday, the front will be swept away from the area, reducing rain chances for several days with a slow warming trend commencing.
