Isolated Showers Developing
Rain chances are low this afternoon and evening, but some isolated showers and storms are possible. There is a weak cool front moving south through the Tennessee Valley this evening; drier air behind it will erase the chance of rain by midnight for most of North Alabama and Southern Tennessee.
Even ahead of the front, there is not a lot of unstable air to fuel any extremely heavy storms. Some of the showers/storms could have brief heavy downpours and some thunder and lightning.

Drier air blowing in from the northwest will reduce the instability around The Shoals and Southern Tenn. this afternoon and evening. The red lines indicate CAPE (instability). It’s highest south of the cold front.
