Picture Perfect Sunday!

It was a refreshing start to your Sunday, with everyone in the Tennessee Valley cooling into the 50s, with some of the normally cooler spots with temperature readings in the low 50s!  We started off the day in Fall-like fashion and will have another pleasant Summer afternoon in store.   With high pressure in place across the region, a mostly sunny sky will prevail with dry conditions.  Highs will warm a few degrees warmer than yesterday, in the mid to upper 80s.  Below is a check of 11:00 am temperatures.

Tonight and into Monday, as high pressure shifts east, a southerly wind will return, increasing moisture across the Tennessee Valley ahead of another approaching cold front.  Rain chances will increase from west to east during the afternoon and evening hours on Monday.  There is the potential for a few storms to be on the stronger side, especially in northwest Alabama, with the main threats being high wind and hail.  Currently the Storm Prediction Center has northwest Alabama in a ‘Slight Risk’ for severe storms on Monday, see image below.

Rain chances will likely continue Monday night into Tuesday as the front moves through. There will be a brief lull in the activity around mid-week, though an isolated shower or storm cannot be ruled out.  By Thursday and Friday rain chances increase again, with another front forecast to move through the area.
