Spectacular Saturday!!
It is an absolutely gorgeous morning and it’s just going to continue to get better! Behind the cold front that brought showers and storms yesterday, slightly cooler and drier air has filtered into the Tennessee Valley in its wake….making for a fantastic and dry weekend! High temperatures today will range mostly in the mid 80s, with a northerly breeze between about 5 to 15 mph. Sunset is at 7:39 pm in Huntsville, it will be a beauty, so make some plans to be outside to view it! To encourage you to go outside and enjoy the beautiful day, below is a skycam shot from our Athens State University Camera from earlier this morning.
Tonight will be one of the cooler nights the Tennessee Valley has felt in awhile. Temperatures will fall into the 50s for most, the first time since June 7th since temperatures have been that cool and it will be the first time since 2009 that it has been cooler than 60 degrees in August! Also with a clear sky tonight, it will be perfect for viewing the Perseid Meteor Shower! After a refreshing start to Sunday, highs will be a little warmer than today, but still pleasant and warming into the upper 80s for most. I hope everyone enjoys the fantastic weekend!:)
