The Next 24 Hours – Thursday
Scattered showers and storms will become more numerous on Thursday, and that means temperatures will come down a little. The humidity won’t go anywhere, though! High temperatures on Wednesday hit 94º in Huntsville and Decatur, 97º in Muscle Shoals, and only 88º in Albertville. We expect generally 88º to 92º across the Tennessee Valley on Thursday, but the highest temperature may well occur around Noon instead of the usual 2 to 4 PM thanks to showers and storms getting a running start by midday.
There is an outside chance of a few strong or severe storms Thursday afternoon; at worst, we are talking a hand full of storms with very heavy rain, frequent lightning, and potential for some gusty winds and hail. The atmosphere is not set up for a significant severe weather episode.
A cold front will keep rain chances high on Friday through the afternoon and early evening, but that will lead us into a beautiful weekend! Here’s more on the extended forecast at WHNT.com Weather!
