Early Sunday Afternoon – Storms in Progress
A weakly organized line of showers and storms has developed along an upper-level trough and are now moving slowly East-Southeast (about 10 to 15mph). All storms are producing heavy downpours and lightning, but gusty winds and occasional hail are also possible. So far, most activity has been limited Northwest Alabama into Southern Middle Tennessee, but isolated showers are now beginning to form ahead of this main line and will likely continue to grow in number throughout the afternoon.
Some storms may intensify enough to produce some strong winds and hail. Localized flooding may also be an issue if a heavy storm decides to stall over a particular area.
More storms may develop to our northwest in the vicinity of a cold front and move into the Tennessee Valley later this evening or tonight.
