More high heat is in the forecast today. Huntsville points west is under a heat advisory this afternoon. It will feel like around 105° at times today.

Typically, August is one of the drier months of the year.

It might not start off that way. Rain and storms are likely Friday into the weekend as a frontal boundary moves in.

In the tropics, tropical depression #5 is in the Atlantic Ocean. It’s way out there with plenty of time to watch it. The official track takes the system near Jamaica as a tropical storm by Monday or Tuesday of next week.
