Mid-Afternoon Update- A Few Storms Developing

Posted on: 2:47 pm, July 28, 2012, by

A few scattered showers are beginning to show up on radar in Southern Middle Tennessee.

This activity is developing along a weak frontal boundary which is providing just enough lift in this hot a humid environment to get showers to develop. This band of convergence is apparent in the visible satellite image below where a field of cumulus clouds has formed.

Some storms may grow to severe levels this afternoon, with locally strong winds being the primary threat and hail the secondary threat. Most storms should be gone by 8 or 9 tonight.
