Friday Mid-Day Update

Storms are quickly becoming more numerous in a very hot and humid airmass across the Tennessee Valley. General movement is southeast.

Some storms could grow to severe levels today with high winds being the primary threat and hail as the secondary threat. Everyone will have a chance at severe weather, but the risk is elevated slightly in southern and southeastern areas as indicated by the Storm Prediction Center’s slight risk area.

The best chance for storms will be during the heat of the afternoon- approximately 1pm thru 7pm- but a few showers and storms may linger into the late evening hours.
