More Rain and a Few Storms
The steady, soaking rain that sat right over US 72 from The Shoals to Jackson County this morning has started drying up a little, but there are still some light showers in a band from near Cherokee in Colbert County east into Lawrence, Lauderdale, Limestone, Madison and Jackson Counties.
More rain and a few scattered thunderstorms are moving northeast across Walker and Cullman Counties in the general direction of Marshall and Morgan Counties.
Another round of locally-heavy downpours with some flashes of lightning and rumbles of thunder will pass through the Tennessee Valley this evening; a few spots will get more than 1 inch of rain, but others will get a little under a half-inch.
Here’s the latest rainfall potential map from the Hydrometeorological Prediction Center; note the heaviest amounts are likely in Mississippi and over Northwest Alabama (7 PM today through 7 PM Thursday).
