It Could Be Hotter

Our stretch of 90s may not end anytime soon. To keep things in perspective, it could be hotter….much hotter. We are almost done June and we haven’t hit 100 degrees this year. Last year, we ended May and started June with 20 days in a row with temperatures at or above 90 including eight days with temperatures at 97° or 98° respectively.

Here are some of the all time record highs for the month of June in Huntsville.

Summer officially begins Wednesday evening. Highs will be in the lower to middle 90s.

If you are looking to beat the heat, WHNT News 19 viewer sent this picture in. It’s a gorgeous viewer near Panama City Beach, FL.

And if you REALLY want to beat the heat….think about today’s weather 101 question. What is the snow capital of the U.S.? Click here to find the answer. It averages over 400″ of snow per year and snow is on the ground sometimes even in June.
